Gev Design worked with Syzl to create their new brand and website, fix their design system, and make the product easier to use. We focused on designing and testing mobile friendly product design and helped them stand out to users and in the market.

Outgrowing the early design

Syzl is like Airbnb, but for kitchens. Food entrepreneurs browse certified commercial kitchen spaces, compare options, and book the right one for their needs, all in one place. By 2024 the product had outgrown its early design: the app needed to be easier to use, especially on mobile, the design system needed fixing, and the brand wasn't standing out to users or in the market.

Product, system, then brand

We started with the product, redesigning and testing mobile-friendly flows for browsing, comparing, and booking kitchens. Underneath the screens we repaired the design system that everything is built on.

Then came the brand: a new logo, colour palette, and type system, carried from the app through to a new marketing website built to introduce the marketplace to first-time renters.

Users love it

The app got much easier to use, especially on mobile, and in CEO Azrah Manji-Savin's words, users love it. The fresh brand and site now show who Syzl really is, and her team says ours felt like part of their own.
