An AI governance platform has two users who read nothing the same way. A policy expert wants every detail, because their job is to defend a decision later. An executive wants one line: is the company exposed. Build for either one and you lose the other.
Two readers who need opposite things
Most compliance software picks the policy expert and buries the executive in tabs. Fairly could not do that. The product only works if both people look at the same screen and reach the same conclusion. That is harder than serving either one alone.
One screen, two depths
The app reads at two depths instead of in two modes. The judgement comes first. The evidence sits directly under it. Nothing hides behind a role setting somebody has to remember to switch.
That only stayed honest because the work happened next to Fairly's own engineers and scientists. A simplification made without them is usually just an omission. In compliance software, an omission is the one thing you cannot ship.

The company has since changed its name. In June 2025 Fairly AI acquired the Swedish AI-ethics startup anch.AI, and the two relaunched together as Asenion. fairly.ai now redirects there.
